Amy Miller serves as a Program Officer. She is responsible for delivering and expanding the reach of our technical assistance and consulting services to our network of Coordinating Programs, communities, and other partners across the country. Experienced in building community, developing and implementing strategic plans, volunteer management, and creating award winning community engagement strategies, Amy values community participation. Skilled at developing public private partnerships and building the toolbox that helps the private sector be successful, she understands the creativity, patience and persistence that economic development in the context of historic preservation requires. Miller’s collaborative work included planning and implementing a $4 million park expansion in the heart of downtown with public art and a diverse accessibilities playground.
With a Masters in Public Administration, Amy has successfully led capital campaigns, managed multimillion dollar infrastructure projects, led downtown revitalization programs, and implemented community priorities in economic development and historic preservation. She has a track record of turning community ideas into tangible results and is a recognized leader in her field having received multiple awards for her contributions to downtown development, communications, and historic preservation.

Prior to joining MSA, Amy’s most recent employment was with the City of Elgin where she served as Community Services Director, responsible for downtown development, historic preservation, communications, library services, and parks & recreation. Amy previously worked for the Cities of Fort Worth, Colleyville and Dallas. She earned her Masters of Public Administration degree and her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Texas in Denton. When she’s not helping communities build successful downtown revitalization programs and implement thoughtful historic preservation efforts, Amy can be found on the hiking trail or volunteering in her hometown.
