Magdalena (Maggie) Gillespie, MSARP, serves as the Associate Manager for the Thriving Communities Program, delivering tailored technical assistance to under-resourced communities to help them shape important local projects and advance toward funding and implementation.
Maggie discovered her passion for the Main Street Movement while partnering with a local program to improve town and gown relationships in the community she grew up in. Her appreciation for historic preservation increased while serving as program specialist for the organization, and later as Assistant Director of Destination Services and Main Street Program Manager in Buda, Texas. Most recently, Maggie expanded her experience in economic development by leading efforts to help existing businesses succeed through her tenure as the Business Retention and Expansion Manager at Greater San Marcos Partnership.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Science from Texas State University San Marcos, and has received a Certificate of Leadership and Nonprofit Management through the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations, a Main Street America Revitalization Professional credential through the Main Street America Institute, and a Business Retention and Expansion certification from the Business Retention and Expansion Institute.
Maggie is based in Kyle, Texas, where she enjoys traveling and spending time exploring historic downtowns across Hill County with her family and dog.
