We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, loved ones, and great food. Community is so important, and we hope you take time this week to connect with those around you, explore local places and spaces, and give back.

Following Thanksgiving is the Shop Small holiday weekend, an opportunity to celebrate small businesses, local artists, community organizations, and more. Below are each of the Shop Small holidays and ways you can get involved.

Plaid Friday

Skip Black Friday and opt for Plaid Friday, a celebration of the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses. Put on your favorite flannel and head downtown to shop for indie goods and services to show support for these important community institutions. Learn more >

Small Business Saturday®

Small Business Saturday® is the biggest small business shopping day of the year! Communities, including many Main Streets, will host exciting events and community gatherings to encourage people to Shop Small and support small businesses. Main Street America has been a proud supporter since the beginning, and we are honored to once again team up with American Express to help rally communities to support their local businesses for the 15th Small Business Saturday on November 30, 2024, through the Neighborhood Champions program. Find a Neighborhood Champions event near you >

Artist Sunday

Local artists contribute significantly to culture, well-being, and sense of place, and Artist Sunday is an opportunity to show your appreciation for this work. We encourage you to identify local artists, performers, and creators in your community and purchase artwork, reserve performance tickets, or show support in other ways. You can find a list of participating artists here >

Cyber Monday

E‑commerce is important for small business owners! Make sure to check out the websites of your favorite local businesses and show your support. If you want to browse multiple small businesses at once, check out these online marketplaces full of unique items from Main Street small businesses.
