NewTown Macon is excited to introduce Hype Hounds, a heartwarming program designed to elevate Downtown Macon as the ultimate dog-friendly destination with the invaluable help of our furry ambassadors! This initiative brings together dog lovers and their adorable pups to showcase the multitude of dog-friendly businesses, restaurants, and bars that add to the magic of Downtown Macon. Hype Hound members proudly post their dogs enjoying various downtown activities while sporting the distinctive Hype Hounds bandana 1 to 2 times a month. Their posts show the vibrant and inviting atmosphere that beckons both residents and visitors to explore the city with their four-legged companions. Not only have the Hype Hounds branded Downtown Macon as a dog-friendly location, but they have also made a significant impact on our social media presence! In the first four months of the program's inception, we witnessed a 7% increase in the use of #downtownmacon on Instagram posts. The Hype Hounds are currently entering year two of the program, and we are taking applications for new members.
