Nature-Based Placemaking uses a community’s outdoor recreational assets as a foundation for community transformation. By harnessing the economic impact of your unique natural landscape through tourism and outdoor recreation, you can build a robust local economy while supporting a strong community and sense of place. This handbook explores the theory of nature-based placemaking and the steps you can take to implement a nature-based placemaking strategy. It is a great resource for Main Streets interested in outdoor recreation and nature as a transformation strategy.
