The events of 2020 and 2021 — from COVID-19 to the national reckoning around racial justice to cascading
climate crises – resulted in enormous disruption in our daily lives, as well as our local economies.
As we recover, we are confronted with a series of critical decisions about what the future will
look like for our Main Street districts. This Main Idea General Session explored the ways Main Street
programs, place governance organizations, and local leaders can drive a more equitable recovery,
support entrepreneurs, and use their positions to leverage recovery into a moment of healing and move
toward shared prosperity.

Featured Speakers: Amy Liu, Vice President and Director, Met

This webinar was originally shared at the Main Idea session at the 2021 Main Street Now conference.
