Welcome to the inaugural edition of State of Main, the annual publication of Main Street America featuring thought leadership from across the network.
As a community-led organization, it is important that your board of directors reflects the wider demographics of your community. This matrix makes it easy for you to see how the age, gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, career, and income of your board members compare to the rest of your community. Simple fill in the attributes for your board members and then compare it with demographic information from your community. You can use this to evaluate your existing board composition, or when selecting candidates to fill a vacant spot on your board.
